Measles OutbreakWe have had numerous calls to the office over concerns for the measles outbreak currently occurring in Texas, and now moving into New Mexico. We are continuing to monitor the outbreak. We have not been advised of any changes to the standard vaccine schedules at this time. The best safeguard at this time is to ensure that your child has received all of their recommended age-appropriate vaccines. The MMR (measles/mumps/rubella) vaccine is given at ages 1 and 4. At this time, there are no recommendations to administer initial doses or booster doses earlier than these ages. We do recommend minimizing exposure risks for unvaccinated children or children too young to have received the vaccines. We will continue to keep our families updated in the event of any changes to information or recommendations. |
Vaccination QuestionsRemember that you can utilize MyChart to check your child’s vaccine status and print a vaccine record. Since all our vaccines are reported to the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS), you can also use the public portal to view this information. This is especially helpful for patients who have moved to another medical provider or have aged out of the pediatric setting and need to establish care with an adult provider.
